Vaginal Cancer

Primary site of growth is in the vagina. Extension to portio and external os should always be assigned to carcinoma of the cervix. Extension to vulva should be classified as carcinoma of the vulva. Growth limited to the urethra should be classified as a carcinoma of the urethra.

Stage 0	Carcinoma in situ, intraepithelial carcinoma
Stage I	Limited to vaginal wall
Stage II	Involvement of subvaginal tissue, but no extension to pelvic wall
Stage III	Extension to pelvic wall
Stage IV	Extension beyond true pelvis or involvement of bladder or rectal mucosa.

(A bullous edema as such does not permit assignment of a case to Stage IV.)
